Hey all!
Happy Thanksgiving! (again). It was a good holiday season and I hope that everyone was able to eat some good food and have a good time with family. 😉
Last Monday, I don’t really remember what we did. I think we played Throw Throw burrito and PooPocalypse with the District? We had dinner with a family who are not members, but their immediate family is converts and they are super nice to missionaries.
Tuesday, we had a bunch of finding time and also exchanges! I can’t believe that was just this last week, because honestly, it feels like it was so long ago!! I stayed in my area and Elder Lettich went to the Macon area. Because I stayed, I got to drive! Elder McCauley came to Warner Robins with me, and we had some really good finding time! We had dinner at the Larsen’s home and it was kind of funny, because it was just Brother Larsen, so that means that there were three Nate’s in the house haha. We went from dinner to the Gubler’s house so we could have our final lesson with Anne before she got baptized ((Yes, I finally asked for permission to use her name!!). Twas a good lesson, and at this point, she was so ready ?.
Wednesday, we had Anne’s baptismal interview in the morning, and then we helped at the food pantry. We unexchanged and taught English Class. It was actually a really fun English class because we played Pictionary and it was super fun. Other than that, Wednesday was pretty normal.
Thursday was Thanksgiving!! It was so sad because Elder Lettich woke up sick with what were symptoms of the flu. He took a nice nap in the morning and said that helped, so we called the families that we were going to go to and the Kimballs said that they didn’t care, so we were still able to go! The other family had lots of people and little kiddos, so we figured it would be better to not spread the love of the germs haha. But we were still able to have a good Thanksgiving with the Kimball’s and that was super fun! We helped them get all of their Christmas decorations out and set up their Christmas tree. They also had this massive burn pile of wood (from when we chopped down 6 trees), and lit that all on fire. That was definitely the biggest fire that I have ever seen!! It probably went up 30-40ft??
Friday, we had dinner at the Bronson’s. As it was Thanksgiving the night before, we had round two of thanksgiving! It was really yummy. Then, we went out finding and had some good impromptu lessons with some people. There was this one guy who let us in (which still doesn’t happen very often), and we thought he was probably around 70 years old. He told us his age and when we found out he is turning 90 next month, we were blown away!! We had a good lesson with our two friends who are on date and that went super well!
Saturday, we had some good finding time and then the highlight of the entire week! Anne got baptized!! I gave a talk on baptism and Elder Lettich gave a talk on the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Brother Gubler was able to baptize and Sister Gubler and I were witnesses. It was super awesome service, and I am so happy for Anne!! (We also had dinner at Harper’s house and that was round 3 of Thanksgiving).
Sunday, we had church and we had 5 of our friends come to church! One of them lives literally less than a block away from the church, so we walked with him to church and that was good :). There was also another guy who apparently found our card on his counter and called us this morning asking where our church is. That was a crazy miracle, because no one usually looks twice at the cards we hand out ?. But we had dinner at the Gubler’s house, and that was a good time and counted for the fourth Thanksgiving. Anne was able to come as well, so less than 24 hours after being confirmed, she was already at a member dinner haha.
That leaves us to today, where the sisters ended up getting a flat tire by popping the side of it on a curb? Idk, but that was super sad, but it was very fortunate that it happened right next to the Krispy Creme. While their car got a donut tire, we filled our bellies with donuts ?.
And that leaves us with a spiritual thought. I have recently started a study of the Book of Mormon where I am highlighting all of the references to any of the members of the Godhead. It has actually been super cool to recognize just how much the scriptures really do talk about the Godhead and especially Jesus Christ! Even when there is seemingly ‘nothing to learn’ from a verse, you realize that all along it was talking about Jesus Christ!! It is quite the task to highlight them all, but it is really cool to see just how much the scriptures teach about Jesus Christ. No wonder why it is one of the biggest things that we can do to strengthen our testimonies!! I’d love to invite everyone to continue or start reading the scriptures. I know I’ve invited this before, but there is real truth to be found in the Scriptures, and especially the Book of Mormon! I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
I love you all and hope that you have a fantastic week!! Stay blessed, and stay healthy!
